![]() And, in fairness, Hank Jr.’s duets with his father, although he did not associate Hank Sr. We’ve already sort of seen this in country music with Sam Hunt desecrating Webb Pierce a few years ago. It could result in a posthumous loss of reputation. You mentioned AI and, while not quite relevant to the UAW strike, something that has been mentioned during the SAG-AFTRA strike is the ethics of actors’ likenesses being used artificially after they pass in projects they never agreed to work on during their life. I can’t imagine him okaying it, but who knows? He was also the brother of songwriting great Paul Williams (also Little Enos in the Smokey and the Bandit movies and the star of the underrated Phantom of the Paradise). She had three children, but he wasn’t the biological father of any of them. But he passed away in 2016, a year after his longtime partner, country great Lynn Anderson. Looking into who okayed this, it seems that Mentor Williams, who wrote “Drift Away” is fully credited as a songwriter. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the last dying gasp of Music Row songwriting by committee trying to clear its books of all final inventory before the songwriters from Appalachia, Texas, Oklahoma, and elsewhere finally an irrevocably take over and transform country music back into what it originally was supposed to be, which was three chords and the truth, and people singing from their hearts. And Jelly Roll who guests on the track should be embarrassed that he allowed Lynch to piggyback off the country rapper’s current relevancy so anyone would even pay attention to this track. Dustin Lynch proves unequivocally he’s a creative-bereft shell of a hackneyed entertainer devoid of any original ideas in his cranium with this pathetic effort. Taj Mahal’s “Chevrolet” kicks this song’s ass and makes off with its lunch money. “Chevy Van” by Sammy Johns that was later covered by the great Waylon Jennings comes to mind. ![]() But never as such a non-sequitur, and never cut and pasted so sloppily into an otherwise sanguine and revered composition. How does a song like this even get written and released? Is Dustin Lynch like the Senator Menendez of country music, walking around with gold bars and envelopes full of cash from General Motors pension plans stuffed down his dusty denim to influence peddle for the automobile industry? Sure, multiple iconic American songs mention the Chevrolet car brand. I’d rather be mangled in a gruesome car wreck and left within an inch of life, bleeding out on the asphalt as opposed to having to listen to this song once again. In fact, if technology ever wants to subjugate the human race, replicating an army of Dustin Lynch’s with their strong jaws and repertoire of entirely vapid and disgusting music, and then proliferating them throughout society would be a smart way to pummel the human race into submission.Ĭonsumer advocates should demand an immediate recall of Dustin Lynch’s “Chevrolet” on the grounds that it can result in serious bodily injury and or death when someone hears this song while operating a motor vehicle and immediately succumbs to violent and uncontrollable projectile vomiting. ![]() Dustin Lynch is like a stand-in for artificial intelligence since he’s an automaton for the worst elements of the music industry with absolutely no soul, self-awareness, or musical conscience. You could serve Chat GPT in a handle of Tito’s and it would still spit out a better song than whatever we have here. One of the things they’re agitating for is protection from AI and technology taking their jobs. Interesting that Dustin Lynch releases this piece of shit the same week that the actual blue collar workers that he attempts to emulate with his performative grandstanding actually went on strike from Chevrolet assembly lines all across the United States. ![]() No, don’t think about this similarly to Luke Combs and his cover of “Fast Car.” “Chevrolet” is a gross bastardization of an American musical standard in the attempted service to keep Dustin Lynch’s stupid career steadfastly on the county fair and casino circuit. His latest monstrosity is a naked advertisement for General Motors that like the meth heads in your neighborhood going after your catalytic converter, pilfers key elements from the iconic song “Drift Away” made famous by John Henry Kurtz and later Dobie Gray. To think this asshole is a Grand Ole Opry member is enough to anger the blood and keep one writhing in the sheets at night. It should be of no surprise to anyone that as we check in on the bulbous, pus-filled malignant growth that is Dustin Lynch’s pop country career that it’s in need of laceration, draining, and intense radiation to keep it from metastasizing and destroying country music.

![]() My tests showed that measurements of dimensions for all elements of a room, including complex ceiling soffits, doors and windows, etc, were overall less than 0.5%. The $ 399 price, assuming you already have a compatible iPad, lets you visually scan rooms - as seen in the videos there - via a 'painting' sweeping motion and then get 3D models for a small price per room, with an extra fee for the US-based Canvas staff to integrate all of the rooms into a single model. If you have the skills, and are not overly concerned about money, then a way to get a head start on your home model is the Canvas app from Occipital which uses Occipital's Structure Sensor which you attach to an iPad: ![]() Again, big learning curve that is difficult to do without at least a few days with an experienced user/tutor if you are new to CAD / 3D modeling. But at another level, if the home has complex levels and trim and other custom details that you want to model, then ARCHICAD SOLO, which is about half the price of the professional version, might be worth looking at. If DIY is your game plan, then at some level I agree with Brett about Chief Architect as being simple. I assume you are a reasonably competent computer user and have perhaps done some CAD before or are at least a bit 'left brained'? Otherwise, you should seek someone - even an architecture student - to assist you vs buying and learning a complex new program. Is ArchiCAD the right software for this purpose? Or is there something else that suits our needs better? ![]() A linguist in the Air Force frequently works as part of a flight crew, translating foreign language communications received during flight. The military’s language professionals are linguists, who are highly skilled language professionals with a wide range of skills. However, most language training programs last between 26 and 64 weeks. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the length of linguist training in the Air Force depends on the specific language being studied. Because they must be present at the scene of the translation, linguists working in combat zones frequently travel. In the United States, civilian air and ground transportation is relatively safe, but travel in combat zones poses a significant risk. ![]() This is due to the high risk of deployment and the difficulty of communicating in combat situations. The High Risk Of Deployment For Air Force LinguistsĪir Force linguists are not currently engaged in combat. Goodfellow Air Force Base, one of the few Air Force installations with a Pashto-speaking population of more than 10,000 people, is also home to the Air Force Special Operations Command. The academy trains military personnel as well as civilians in a foreign language. The only Pashto language academy in the United States is located in Monterey, California, at the Presidio of Monterey. The Afghan National Army employs eight Pashto speakers at Joint Base Lackland to teach its personnel the language. The Air Force has long been criticized for its lack of linguists who can speak Pashto, which is one of the world’s most widely spoken languages. It is not always possible to generalize and work with documents of low security. Certain communication styles, such as intelligence, are commonly referred to as linguists. To be successful, Linguists must be fluent in a foreign language that the government will find useful. In linguistics, you can understand and translate documents, radio messages, and other forms of communication. ![]() This may include locations in the United States or abroad. Do Air Force Linguists Get Deployed?Īir Force linguists are often deployed to locations where they are needed to provide communications support. Language and dialect proficiency does not count on the DoD SLL. Any service member may only have to pay the FLPB as little as $12,000 per year. It is especially important for linguists who speak these languages, both cryptanic and non-cryptonic.Ī single language installment fee ranges from $100 to $500 per month, while two or more dialects or languages may require a monthly payment of $1,000 or more. The annual pay for an Air Force Cryptologic Linguist in the United States is $37,492, which is 21% less than the national average.īecause both Chinese and Russian linguists and cryptologic linguists are critical, there is a high demand for linguists and cryptologic linguists in the United States Air Force. Linguists typically make between $40,000 and $60,000 per year, depending on their rank and years of experience. They typically work in teams of two or more, with each team responsible for a different language. Linguists in the Air Force are responsible for providing translation and interpretation services, as well as conducting research on foreign languages. ![]() If you want to make the most out of your moves, consider checking out my video class Rhythm Mastery for Street Dancers, which gives you a structured approach to killing beats. With snow, it might be a tree, or a person, a building, an animal, or any object that stands out against the white snow. With the case of a blue sky, this might be something like a cloud. In both these scenarios, the solution is to find something other than a uniform expanse to focus on. You will often have the same problem if you try to take a picture of a wide open blue sky-the camera has nothing to lock onto. A large expanse of white snow tends not to have much contrast, and so the camera doesn’t have much to lock onto. The focus function normally require a contrasting area to focus on-any area of the scene with contrasting elements. ![]() The reason for this is down to the way that most camera focus systems work. Or you might get an out of focus shot which isn’t usable. ![]() In a worst case scenario, it won’t be able to auto focus at all, and you won’t be able to take a photo. One thing you might notice when shooting in snow is that your camera or smartphone might struggle to lock focus, with the autofocus hunting backwards and forwards. When I’ve done winter photography in the artic circle, sometimes I’ve found that the few hours of daylight are all golden all the time, which made for fantastic photography opportunities. However, it does carry the advantage that sunrise / sunset are closer together, and you can usually capture the golden and blue hours without having to get up really early or go to bed really late. This means that the days will be shorter, giving you less time for daytime photography. It’s also worth keeping in mind when planning your snowy photography shoots that you will generally be shooting in the winter season in most destinations. So a warm sunset or cool pre-dawn tones can look really wonderful as part of a snowy scene. This is because snow is very reflective, and tends to amplify and reflect light well. These times of day are good for photography in general, but are particularly good for shooting snowy scenes. Just after the sun rises and before it sets, the light is very yellow and warm in tone, and this period is known as the golden hour. In the early morning and late evenings, when the sun is just below the horizon, the light is very blue and cold in tone, and this time is known as the blue hour. Through the course of the day, the light changes in both its direction and color. If you’d like some tips, see my guide to composition in photography to get you started. There are lots of compositional tips and tricks you can use to improve your image, from things like the rule of thirds through to use of color, leading lines and so on. "Just look at the women’s pointed caps from Pskov embroidered with the tiniest river pearls: it is incredible how fine the tools must have been to make holes in those tiny pearls - several times smaller than a matchstick in diameter," the exhibition curator said. The most luxurious folk costumes in the Hermitage collection were created by artisans of the Russian North and North-West Russia, Tarasova said, where fur, river pearls and mother-of-pearl were in abundance and there were strong traditions of lacemaking and embroidery. Largely thanks to her efforts, elements of Russian folk costume were blended naturally with the court’s traditional styles, as can be seen in the gala court coats of the 1830s-1900s, the intricate costumes of court nurses and court singers, as well as military and livery coats and the Russian-style ball costumes. As a princess of German origin, and someone who ascended the throne as a result of imperfect political maneuvering, the empress sought opportunities to broadcast her affinity to Russian culture and traditions. It was Catherine who introduced sundresses, kokoshniki, and long flap sleeves to the Russian court. Catherine simply came to the meeting in the uniform of the Preobrazhensky Regiment of the Life Guards.” Gustav had sent a large military contingent to the Russian border a few months before the meeting. She chose to wear a uniform, knowing perfectly well that Gustav could not stand military uniforms, which were even banned at his court. "For example, the Empress wore a uniform when she went to Friedrichsgem in 1783 for difficult negotiations with Gustav III, King of Sweden. “We begin the exhibition with Catherine the Great because she was the first Russian monarch to appreciate the immense political power of costume, particularly its folk elements," Nina Tarasova, curator at the Costume Gallery and head of the Applied Art Section of the Hermitage's Russian Cultural History Department, told The Moscow Times. Catherine II used costume to strengthen her personal power, communicate with diplomats, and promote the military and political agenda of the Russian state. She worked hard to integrate them in the court fashion and wardrobe. Catherine wore the admiral’s uniform when she attended ceremonies to launch ships or celebrate the victories of the Russian fleet.Īs early as the 1770-80s the far-sighted empress recognized the strong potential of folk elements in costume. The exhibition opens with an impressive regal trio of uniforms of Catherine the Great: the uniform of the Semyonovsky and Konnogvardeysky regiments and the uniform of the admiral of the Russian fleet.
